Josh Meyer is a graduate of the both the University of Alabama and Florida State University, holding a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Music Education. As a performer, Mr. Meyer has served as a soloist for the Million Dollar Band, and spent five years with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, winning the World Championship in 2016. 

Before coming to Oak Grove, Mr. Meyer served as an elementary music teacher in Auburn City Schools, and later served as the Band Director at Ashford High School, outside of Dothan. He has stayed active in the Drum Corps International activity, teaching visual marching instruction at multiple drum corps, and most recently performing in Lucas Oil Stadium as a member of the 50th Anniversary Bluecoats Alumni Corps. Mr. Meyer is married to his wonderful wife Marthalyn, a Birmingham native, whom he met as a member of the Million Dollar Band. 

Mr. Meyer is tremendously excited to continue the Tradition of Excellence established in the Oak Grove High School Band Program.

Anna Gugel is a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University with a degree in Music Education with a concentration in Band. She had the privilege of studying under John Lawless, as well as being under the direction of conductors such as Dr. Nathaniel Parker with the Kennesaw State Symphony Orchestra and Dr. David Kehler with the Kennesaw State Wind Ensemble. In her time at KSU, Ms. Gugel had been an active student in several performances throughout her time with various ensembles as well as working towards beginning her career by teaching young players at several schools in the metro Atlanta area.

Outside of her professional field, Ms. Gugel finds herself winding down with several creative outlets including cross stitching, painting, and photography. She also enjoys reading when she finds the time and some of her favorite books include State of Fear, The Martian, and The Importance of Being Earnest. She has two sweet cats that she spoils with love and kisses.
