Josh Meyer is a graduate of the both the University of Alabama and Florida State University, holding a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Music Education. As a performer, Mr. Meyer has served as a soloist for the Million Dollar Band, and spent five years with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, winning the World Championship in 2016. 

Before coming to Oak Grove, Mr. Meyer served as an elementary music teacher in Auburn City Schools, and later served as the Band Director at Ashford High School, outside of Dothan. He has stayed active in the Drum Corps International activity, teaching visual marching instruction at multiple drum corps, and most recently performing in Lucas Oil Stadium as a member of the 50th Anniversary Bluecoats Alumni Corps. Mr. Meyer is married to his wonderful wife Marthalyn, a Birmingham native, whom he met as a member of the Million Dollar Band. Together they have one son, Finn Houston, who joined their family during the 2024 marching band season. 

Mr. Meyer is tremendously excited to continue the Tradition of Excellence established in the Oak Grove High School Band Program.

Mr. Landers is a native of Dothan, Alabama and a Graduate of the University of Montevallo. He has taught in both and public and private schools, serving as Band Director at Prattville Christian Academy, Slocomb High School, and New Brockton High School. Mr. Landers has completed his first two levels of Kodály training and hopes to complete his training soon. He has spent time conducting the Wiregrass Community Band and he currently plays with the Five Guys Brass Quintet.

Outside of music, Mr. Landers loves movies and TV. He has a thing for automatic watches and card games.
